Kimberly's Safe Routes to School
The City is working with the Kimberly School District (Jan Hall, High School Physical Education Teacher) to begin a Safe Routes to School program in our community. We have applied for our first grant opportunity. We have been notified that we received an educational grant and we are currently awaiting the funding approval from the Department of Transportation.
This grant will allow us to hire a part-time coordinator to work with the educational piece of the program. With the success of the coordinator, we will then be able to apply for infrastructure grants, which will allow us to receive funding to implement sidewalks, lighting, etc.
This is a great opportunity for our community and we look forward to our continued partnership with the Safe Routes to School program. Please click on the link to find more information regarding the State program.
