Building and Planning and Zoning Department
The Building and Planning and Zoning department performs a variety of services intended to protect, maintain, and develop an attractive, safe, and healthy environment. Primary functions address property development and land use activities occurring in the City.
Planning and Zoning Commission Responsibilities
The Planning and Zoning Commission acts as a recommending body on applicable land use applications such as annexations, subdivisions, and amendments to the zoning code Title 17 compliant with the goals, objectives, and policies of the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinances adopted by the City Council.

Planning and Zoning Commission

Planning and Zoning Administrator
The Planning Administrator is appointed per Id. Code, is responsible for the orderly development / growth of the City, grant writing, Economic Development, Administrator of Kimberly’s Zoning Ordinance, Comprehensive Plan, Building Department, Design Review ordinances, Sign code, Annexations, Subdivisions, Lot Line Adj., and LUPA code compliance.
